You will find a massive marketing campaigne for rental investment properties in Ubud and Canggu and other popular tourism areas but buyer be wear, and do your research. It seems there is a building boom going on and there could be at some stage a lot of properties to rent forcing those high advertised rent returns on a downward trend.
Our research is showing popular areas like Sanur, Nusa Dua , Kuta, Jimbaran, Benoa, Candi Dassa, Legian, Seminyak and Renon are good places to buy an investment property being close to most Government agency offices, hospitals, shopping centres, schools, university and beaches. Know matter where you buy in Bali there are always great warungs and restaurants to suite all budgets close by.
What to look for when considering buy an investment property to rent out:
Make sure you are paying the corect price for the property. Your agent will know from current market recent sales.
- Is it close to the beach? Some renters will prefer somewhere like Ubud in a cooler climate but most visitors to Bali are heading for the beaches not only for a swim but the fantastic eateries and bars looking over the sea.
- Has it got more than one bedroom. A big majority of renters are families or couples who want rooms for family and friends visits?
- Is a hospital close by?
- Is there a supermarket close by?
- Being close to schools are an advantage.
- Is the airport easy to reach?
- Has it a swimming pool?
- Will the expected rent the agent sugests live up to your expectations.
- Does the property need any renovations?
Do you need to buy furnitue for it. Most places are rented out fully furnished.
